At this moment in the Republic of Macedonia; children, women, and the elderly are seeking shelter and security in public schools, bomb shelters, and any safe haven that can be found. They have been relocated from their homes and are virtually left with nothing. In dire need of food, water, and medical supplies, they wait and pray for help from somewhere. We hope to answer their prayers. Every day the news is filled with examples of injustice and suffering, but few of these tragic stories also offer the potential for hope that we are able to extend to the people of Macedonia.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you, as well as seek your assistance, in regards to the current situation in the Republic of Macedonia. In the recent months, Albanian terrorist groups have been destabilizing the democratic nation of Macedonia in hopes of creating a Greater Albania. Recently, President George W. Bush showed support for the Republic of Macedonia by closing the American borders to the Albanian rebels. Also, President Bush banned all aid to the Albanian rebels from any American agency or organization. Many young lives have been lost during this tragic time. As we hope and pray for peace, we find ourselves focusing on assisting the people who have lost loved ones and who have been displaced from their homes. We cannot emphasize enough how critical this time is for the people of Macedonia.

The Saints Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral in Crown Point has formed the Macedonian Humanitarian Organization to seek help for the people of Macedonia. Our request from you is for your support in anyway that you can. Our collective effort will make a difference. If you would like to send a donation, please send it to:
